About us

My Marine Connection is a registered NGO based in Queensland, Australia. This site has been put together by Dr. Kelli Anderson, a marine scientist, diver, and amateur photographer. As a marine biologist, Kelli is exposed to the latest globally significant scientific research in her daily life. Others are not so lucky, and find it hard to find reliable information about marine biology/conservation that is explained without the jargon. This site is in its infancy, however My Marine Connection aims to deliver contemporary, robust, and relevant material to those who want to learn more about the challenges that marine ecosystems are facing. If you're new to marine biology or science in general,  you may find the 'concepts' tab helpful. Here you will find explanations of scientific concepts that form the foundation of our current understanding of ecology. To pick up some tips for how you can help our oceans or find further information, check out the 'action zone' and 'resources' tabs. And finally, to see what Kelli has been up to, you can head over to the blog section!

This site is really new, so you'll only find a few articles on here at the moment. But make sure you stay tuned because more and more content will be added!! If you have an idea for an article related to marine conservation, would like a particular scientific topic explained, or would like to contribute send us a message and we'll see what we can do!

Making a donation?

If you're lucky enough to come to one of My Marine Connection's events and make a donation, you may be wondering where your money will end up. The short answer is, 100% of your donation will go towards helping us spread the conservation message! Things like paying for the licences to screen documentaries, and paying for the fees associated with running this website. My Marine Connection does not employ workers, and is only alive and kicking due to the generosity of others. Thanks so much for your support!
